Types of prototypes

Prototyping is a very effective way of data visualisation. In software development they can be classified according to various criteria and various groups of prototyping models.

Domain models are applied in presenting the concept of future software development project and connect business ideas to the project view.
UI mockups are prototyping models, applied in presenting  GUI of a software solution, and getting user feedback on usability characteristics and making appropriate improvements in user interface during software development.
Wireframes can be considered backbone prototyping models that combine the information about page layout, software solutions functionality, navigation and other content, which lays foundation for further software development.
